KALA celebrates annual day

LONDON Nov 19: Kerala Arts & Literary Association (UK) celebrated its 22nd Annual Day on 27th October, 2018 at the Centenary Theatre Berkhamsted Girl’s School Berkhamsted HP4 3BG with a vide variety of programmes.

The Annual Day Programme began with Reception and Refreshments, Welcome with Thaalapoli, the KALA Signature Song & Lighting the Lamp.
Sri Rajamanickam IAS lighted the lamp.  Kala charity donated a cheque for £21,915 towards CM’s Kerala Flood relief. Professor V Madhusoodanan Nair delivered the keynote speech.
Some of the highlights of the evening was a dance drama presentation of a poem Vilwamangalam, written and recited by Professor V Madhusoodhanan Nair, a presentation of the famous poem Naranathu Bhranthan in a different form,  Kaali and Koolis entrance, written and recited by Professor V Madhusoodanan Nair, music by Karmic Version, soft Malayalam music rock group.
The other highlights were Presidential Address by Smt. Shanta Krishnamurthy, Patron’s Remarks & Chemmanam Chacko Anusmaranam by Dr P K Sukumaran Nair. “Palmleaf” Release by Dr. Seena Praveen, ‘October’ Poem  written by Prof V Madhusoodanan Nair, recitated by Sreekanth Nampoothiri, Navarathri Vilakku, a Dance presentation by KALA, Ottanthullal by Ajith Kartha.
Drama by KALA Youth – ‘The World renowned Nose’,an adaptation on Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s short story, “Vishwavikhyaathamaaya Mookku”, Urdu poem – by Ajay Chandran
Music Night – LIVE orchestra by UK based Indian soft rock band, ‘Karmic Version’ was the finale of the evening.
Vote of Thanks was proposed by Secretary, KALA.
