Malayalee youth arrested at Bengaluru airport for obtaining UK student visa using fake certificate

BEGALURU Dec 24: Emigration officials have arrested a Malayalee youth at the Bengaluru airport for trying to travel to the UK by obtaining student visa using fake certificate, news reports said.

The arrested has been named as Saju (name changed) from Wayanad in Kerala.

The alleged offence was that he obtained fake mark lists under the name of Gulbarga University and fake certificate from NV Degree College.

Saju booked the ticket via British Airways and while he was at the Bengaluru emigration counter the officer felt suspicious with the fake certificates which led him to be interrogated.

Further questioning revealed that Saju obtained the UK student visa using fake certificates.

Saju revealed to the emigration officers that he received help from a person name Dinny who works for My Way (name changed but similar) education recruitment consultancy in Kozhikode. Dinny made arrangements for Saju to obtain the fake certificates from a Anurag based in Bengaluru.

Saju said that he had to pay Rs65,000 to obtain the fake mark list under the name of Gulbarga University and certificate from NV Degree College.

Following this Dinny from Kerala helped Saju with completing the immigration papers and obtain the student visa.

Saju had to pay Rs 9 lakhs (Rs900,000) to obtain the student visa.

Police have registered a case against the three for fraud and investigations have begun.
