Keralite student from Portsmouth dies following accident at home

PORTSMOUTH July 2: A Keralite student living in Portsmouth has passed away, reports from Portsmouth said.

Abin Rathnakaran (31) was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Portsmouth following an accident at home.

He passed away yesterday (1st July) at the hospital after succumbing to injuries resulting from the accident at home.

Reports said that the student was suffering from some form of mental health illness and therefore he was struggling.

One of the employers who was offering jobs to the deceased student Abin Rathnakaran (31) said that he wasnt very keen on doing the shifts and only did few hours when majority of the others were scrambling for shifts.

Abin is from Angamaly from Ernakulam in Kerala.

UUKMA, Malayalee organisation in the UK are liaising with family and officials here for the body to be repatriated.
