Indian High Commission in London resumes normal Consular Services with prior Online Appointment

LONDON March 4: The Indian High Commission in London has resumed normal Consular Services with effect from 1st March 2021, said a notification from the High Commission.

Applicants can now make online appointments as per his/her choice for Passport, Surrender, OCI, Visa, Attestation.

All applicants residing in London jurisdiction, can now make appointments using the online appointments system for Passport, Surrender of Indian Passport, Visa, OCI, Attestation & other Consular Services etc.

VFS Global will deal with OCI matters, Passport, Passport Renewal, Surrender of Indian Passport.

The High Commission will provide services related to Birth Registration, Marriage Registration, Death Registration, Transportation of Mortal Remain, Affidavit, Will, Gift Deed, Life Certificate

Due to the pandemic, High Commission of India, London are able to offer limited number of appointments hence applicants are advised to use the above services only in case of an urgency.

However, services at Birmingham and Edinburgh remain as below, according to VFS website.

All applicants residing in Birmingham Jurisdiction, and need to avail the Consular services in a situation of emergency, can now make appointments for Passport, Surrender of Indian Passport, Visa, OCI, Attestation etc. by writing to inf.birmingham@mea.gov.in. Due to the pandemic, Consulate General of India, Birmingham are able to offer limited number of appointments hence applicants are advised to use the above services only in case of an emergency.

All applicants residing in Edinburgh Jurisdiction, and need to avail the Consular services in a situation of emergency, can now make appointments for Passport, Surrender of Indian Passport, Visa, OCI, Attestation etc. by writing to cg.edinburgh@mea.gov.in. Due to the pandemic, Consulate General of India, Edinburgh are able to offer limited number of appointments hence applicants are advised to use the above services only in case of an emergency.

Processing Time for all Fresh/Renewal passport applications submitted in VFS Centers is 5 to 6 weeks.

Time lines/processing times provided for all services are indicative, certain cases may take longer to be processed.

Applicants are requested not to make any travel arrangements without having a valid visa/OCI or any other document needed for you to travel.
