UUKMA sets up volunteer groups to help community all over England, N Ireland, Wales, Scotland

LONDON: Union of UK Malayalee Associations (UUKMA), an umbrella organisation, which has affiliation of majority of the UK Malayalee associations scattered all over the UK, has set up volunteer groups with local member associations to help the community at the time of Covid-19.

Volunteer groups are set up to help community in England, N Ireland, Wales and Scotland. UUKMA’s dedicated Immigration Helpline will help to provide assistance to those who are here in the UK whose visa expires between 24th January 2020 and those who cant leave the UK because of the Travel Ban or Self Isolation.

At the first instance those who require help need to email CIH@homeoffice.gov.uk or contact the Coronavirus Immigration Help Centre on 08006781767 between MOnday and Friday from 9am to 5pm (Calls are free of Charge).

UUKMA is also helping those Non-UK Nationals in the UK Without Permission. Those who are in the UK without permission or overstaying and require treatment for Coronavirus need to contact one of the UUKMA office bearers.
You wont be charged even if results are negative. No immigration checks are required for overseas visitors those who are known to be only undergoing testing or treatment for Covid-19.
UUKMA volunteers will help with shopping and other needs too. UUKMA volunteers are in the forefront from various assocaitions all over the UK providing services to the community.
If a community member requires help and assistance with shopping basic necessities (which will be left at your doorsteps), pick up medicines on their behalf and other support.
