LONDON June 3: UK Malayalee Cricket Club (UKMCL) created history on a very auspicious day at Udaya sponsored MAUK Platinum Mela celebrations of Her Majesty’s Platinum rule in the United Kingdom.

As part of the celebrations, MAUK organised a charity cricket match between UKMCL, led by Raji, and London Sports League (LSL), commanded by Joseph.

UKMCL decided to bat first after winning the toss. With the convincing fifties scored both by Aneesh (66 runs) and Muhammed (59 runs), who put 102 runs together at the fifth wicket and remained unbeaten and set a target of 200 runs to win for LSL in twenty overs.

Anooj of LSL, who scored 20 runs and took two wickets was the only person who fought back but his performance was not enough to win the match for LSL.

Aneesh who scored 66 runs and took a catch , was declared Man of the Match.

The trophies and medals were given away by the MAUK Chairperson, Mr. Anilkumar Edavana, and he promised to have such competitions more organised during the coming years.

Altogether , it was a match enjoyed by one and all.

UKMCL member teams, players, sponsors Global Study Link, well wishers and fraternity can be proud of this convincing win.
