UK Malayalee associations Award Announced: KCWA from Croydon wins honours

LONDON Jan 17: Awards for the best performing Malayalee associations in the UK has been announced. The region-wise awards were instituted by Union of UK Malayalee Associations (UUKMA), an umbrella organisation of Malayalee associations.

The awards were based on the performances of the various associations in the last three years 2016, 2017 and 2018. The awards will be distributed during the UUKMA Family Festival to be held on January 19 in Manchester.

The awards were announced by UUKMA President Mammen Philip and General Secretary Rojimon Varghese.

The South West Region, which has been in the forefront with cultural and sports activities alongwith charity work, won the award for Best Performing region and will collect the Golden Galaxy Award.

East Anglia Region, who were adjudged being the best in charity works won the Silver Galaxy Award for this segment. Meanwhile, Yorkshire and Humber crescent, who were adjudged for best performing in arts bagged the Silver Galaxy Award.

East Anglia Region: Norwich Malayalee Associaiton & Ipswich Malayalee Association

Southwest Region: Gloucestershire Malayalee Association & Aylesbury Malayalee Samajam

South East Region: KCWA (Croydon) & Malayalee Association of Portsmouth

Yorkshire Humber: East Yorkshire Cltural Organisation (Hull) & Sheffield Kerala Cultural Association

North West Region: Manchester Malayalee Association & Warrington Malayalee Associaiton

East & West Midlands Region: Birmingham City Malayalee Community & Staffordshire Malayalee Association

North East Region: Malayalee Association of Sunderland & Malayalee Associaiton of North East
