Nammade Kozhikode UK Sangamam meet concludes with grand end (Pictures)

NORTHAMPTON Oct 12: ‘Nammade Koyikode’, a confluence of people from Kozhikode district living in the UK, has come to a grand end. The first meeting of the people of Kozhikode district was held in Northampton last Sunday. Around 600 people participated in the gathering of people from Kozhikode living in different parts of the UK including London, Manchester, Scotland and Liverpool.

Noted writer M.N. Karassery was the chief guest. Karassery, who made a special mention of the cultural history of Kozhikode, reminded the audience that the honesty which is the hallmark of the people of Kozhikode should never be abandoned.

Various musical and cultural programmes were also organized in connection with the meet.

Kozhikode delicacies, biryani and drinks, mappila pattu of cultural identity, dance forms and vadam vali were arranged at the confluence to celebrate the taste of Kozhikode.

The meeting started at 11 am and lasted till 7 pm.

Riyaz, Delbet, Salam Kunnummal, Rajesha Kattippara, Aaqib London, Aziz, Suprabha, Taufeer, Shineish, Dr. Roshni Riyaz and Siyad Kadampilakkal were among the 20 individuals who took the lead.

Nammade Kozhikode team president Muhammed Keloth said that he intends to carry out activities in the future to help the destitute families living in Kozhikode district. Muhammed Keloth welcomed the gathering. Dr Mithun proposed the vote of thanks.
