Malayalam Mission UK’s “Sugathanjali” Inter-Chapter Poetry Competition on March 6

LONDON Feb 14: Malayalam Mission UK’s “Sugathanjali” Inter-Chapter Poetry Competition will be held on March 6, 2021. Students of Malayalam Mission UK Chapter should send video before February 25 for the first phase of the competition.

Malayalam Mission Pookalam Web Magazine will select children to participate in the “Sugathanjali” Inter-Chapter Poetry Final Competition organized globally in honor of the late famous poetess Sugathakumari Teacher.

Malayalam Mission UK Chapter is organizing the first phase competition for the students of the study centers. On January 1, 2021, children under the age of 10 will compete in the junior category and children between the ages of 10 and 16 in the senior category.

Contestants should sing poems by Sugathakumari Teacher. At least 16 lines should be recited without losing the essence of the poem. The maximum time is 7 minutes. At least 3 minutes is desirable. Sixteen lines will be considered even if it takes less time to recite beautifully. The senior category does not include duplicate lines in the condition of sixteen lines.

Videos of children participating in the first phase of the competition from learning centers in the UK in the junior and senior categories should be sent to the WhatsApp number 07882791150 before February 25th. The verdict will be decided by a well-known judging panel.

The decision of the judging panel will be final. The first and second place winners in each category will be eligible to participate in the inter-chapter finals competition, which will be held online on March 6, 2021 at 1.30pm UK time (IST: 7PM). The Malayalam Mission will present certificates and cash awards to the first and second place winners of the first round of competitions conducted in the UK Chapter.

The second stage is the final competition which includes the first and second place winners from the first stage competitions organized by each chapter. The final will be played online on March 6, 2021 at 1.30 PM UK time (7 PM Indian time). The final will be overseen directly by the Malayalam Mission Central Office.

Malayalam Mission UK Chapter President and President C Jose said that the first phase of the Malayalam Mission UK Chapter’s Poetry Singing Competition was organized in honor of the renowned poetess Sugathakumari Teacher, who was a member of the Malayalam Mission Board of Governors under the Department of Culture, Government of Kerala.
