GILLINGHAM (Kent) Nov 18: Kent Ayyappa Temple will be conducting this year’s Mandala Makara Vilakku Chirappu Maholsavam from Thursday, 17 th November 2022 to Saturday, 14 th January 2023.

Ayyappa Pooja will be conducted from 5pm until 9pm on all Saturdays during this Mandala season. Shree Ayyappa Vilakku will be held on all other days from 6.30pm until 7.30pm.

The Temple opens for the annual two month long Mandala Makara Vilakku season on Thursday, 17 th November 2022 with Special Ayyappa Pooja that will be held from 5pm until 9pm. On this day, Shri Sarath Chandran will be performing Sopana Sangeetham as an offering to Lord Ayyappa.

The Idol installation anniversary (Prathishtadinam) celebrations will begin on Saturday morning from 6:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M on 3rd December 2022. Special rituals will be held prior to the poojas in the afternoon. Routine poojas including Ganapathi homam, Usha pooja, Ucha pooja, Deeparadhana and Athazha pooja will also be performed as part of the celebration. Mandala Pooja & Aarattu Mahotsavam (immersion of the procession idol and return of the Lord Ayyappa idol to the temple) will be held from 4.00 PM until 9.00 PM on Tuesday, 27 th December 2022.

Shree Ayyappa Pooja and Shree Ayyappa Vilakku will be held at the Medway Hindu Mandir, 361 Canterbury Street, Gillingham, Kent, ME7 5XS. Kent Ayyappa Temple cordially invites all Ayyappa devotees to participate in the divine Ayyappa Pooja / Vilakku and receive blessings of the Lord Ayyappa.

Shree Ayyappa Pooja includes Bhajans, Vilakku Pooja, Neyyabhishekam, Thalappoli, Sahasra Namarchana, Ashtottara Archana, Sanidosha Pariharam (Neeranjanam), Ayyappa Pooja, Deeparadhana, Padi Pooja, Harivarasanam,

Prasadavitharanam and Annadanam. Devotees participating in Vilakku pooja are requested to bring Nila Vilakku (Puja oil Lamp), Nalikeram (Coconut) and Pooja Pushpam (Flower bunch). The devotees who would like to perform Sanidosha Parihara Pooja (Neeranjanam), are requested to bring a coconut. The Ayyappa Pooja event is open to all regardless of religion. Priest Venkitesh Swami from Bristol will conduct the main Ayyappa special poojas.
