Avengers beat Oakfield to lift 7-a-side indoor cricket tournament

DARTFORD Feb 19: The first ever 7-A-Side Indoor Cricket Tournament, hosted by Vinu Abraham of Oakfield Warriors Cricket Club on February 17, saw a total of twelve teams participating and was termed as a huge success.

The twelve teams which participated are: Oakfield Warriors A, Oakfield Warriors B, London Sports League, Spartans, Spartans Reloaded, Balls and Sticks, Avengers CC, Tunbridge Wells CC, Gravesend CC, Academy Boys, WACC, Bexley Sharks CC.

Runners Up: Oakfield Warriors

Four teams got through the semifinals. In the first semis Avengers Cricket Club played against LSL in which Avengers beat LSL and secured a place in the finals.

In the second semis Oakfield Warriors played Spartans. Oakfield beat Spartans and secured place in the finals.

Finally Avengers CC beat hosts Oakfield to lift the trophy

The tournament’s best batsman was Smibin Raphael, who scored a total of 248 runs and best bowler was Jithu Devasia who took a total of seven wickets.

The winners will receive £250 and there will be trophies for runners up, best bowler and best batsman.

The Tournament was held at Dartford Science & Technology College, Heath Lane, Dartford DA1 2LY and was played with Readers Wind Ball.
