THIRUVANANTGHAPURAM Oct 19: In an unexpected turn of events, the Kerala government has asked the Devaswom board to take an independent decision on filing a review petition against the Supreme Court order that allows women of any age to enter Sabaro\imala temple.
The new stand of the government will come in handy for the board to resolve the ongoing issue in Sabarimala.
The government has also asked the board to try for a consensus over women’s entry in Sabarimala.
The government and the board now feel that a consensus could be reached if they favoured filing of review petition by Pandalam royal family and the Thantri family.
Moreover, Devaswom board president Padmakumar had said that the board was ready for any compromise in order to resolve the ongoing issue in Sabarimala.
