Christmas celebrated in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 25: People in Kerala celebrated Christmas commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ in a spirit of piety and festivity on Monday.
The celebrations started with midnight masses in churches, and the Christian communities greeted Christmas with decorated pine trees and cribs as well as lit stars.
Christmas services, including midnight masses, were held in churches.
Special masses were also held in the morning.
Bishops and priests conducted the special masses and gave out the Christmas message.
People were seen exchanging gifts and sending out christmas messages. 
Stars adorned almost all churches and houses were illuminated with lights. 
Due to cyclone Ockhi that affected several people in the state, the Latin Catholic churches avoided celebrations.
