Orthodox priests behaved like hunting animals: Kerala High Court

KOCHI: The Kerala high court has in, harsh terms, criticised the priests who had sexually abused a house women after threatening to reveal her secret confessional statements.
“The priests behaved like hunting animals and the house woman’s statement cannot be rejected,” the high court observed, rejecting the anticipatory bail moved by the priests.                                                                                                         
The court said that the investigation officials could proceed further with the case. 
The accused are Fr Johnson V Mathew of Kozhencherry, Fr Jaise K George of Delhi archdiocese, Fr Sony Varghese and Fr Job Mathew. There are indications from the police that they will be arrested soon.
