Sruthi was formed in 2005 by a small group of friends living in the UK and originating from Kerala, India, who were united by passion and fondness towards the art, literature and culture of Kerala.
Sruthi was formed with the intention to maintain this passion, to explore ways of nourishing it through interaction with artists and literary figures from Kerala, to identify and develop artistic talents, and to stage existing and new talent at appropriate venues.
Sruthi was formally inaugurated on 1st October 2005 by Padma Vibhushan Prof. Late O. N. V. Kurup, the internationally acclaimed Malayalam poet.
