LONDON March 27: For the first ever time in the history of UK Malayalees, an event will be held where the audience will have the luxury to hear their fellow community members doing presentations on various topics of interest.

United Rationalists of UK- URUK’s objective is to educate the society through seminars and presentation, promoting scientific temper and freethinking.
Nine thought provoking presentations from subject matter experts based in UK, and a Group Discussion with the audience to explore various viewpoints will be the highlight of the URUK’s Annual Conference 2019.
The event will be held on 18 May 2019 (09:30 to 18:30) at the Jurys Inn, Wellesley Rd, Croydon CR0 9XY.
The key presentations will be on the following topics by noted experts as below:
Education System in the UK
Binil Paul, a private tutor with Masters from University of Sheffield, has a deep dive into the national curriculum and assessments in school in England.
The Cognitive Miser and (un) Critical Thinking Jaison Blesson Kolenchery (Pursuing PhD in Neuroscience).
Our brain enables us to make quick decisions and snap judgments through heuristics and shortcuts which manifest in the form of biases and pre-dispositions to commit logical fallacies.
This presentation attempts to briefly introduce some of these.
