Malayalee from Manchester who was fighting for his life following accident succumbs to injuries

MANCHESTER March 17: A Malayalee father who was seriously injured in an accident on Tuesday (March 14) succumbed to his injuries this evening (Thursday March 16).
Reports says that Paul John, a native from Ayarkunnam Koodallur back in Kerala was returning after picking up his ten year old daughter from school and was at the zebra crossing when a car hit him and others causing injuries to others on Tuesday afternoon.
Reports say that apart from Paul all others have had suffered only minor injuries and his daughter was discharged from hospital after receiving first aid.
Meanwhile, the beareaving family has decided to donate Paul John's organs to those in need.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage.
The accident happened shortly before 4.45pm on Tuesday (14th March) when police were called to Woodhouse Lane at the junction of Hollyhedge Road, Benchill.
On arrival, officers established that a black Kia Picanto had hit a 27 year-old woman who was pushing her two-year-old son in a pram, before careering into a 47-year-old man and his nine-year-old daughter.
The 88-year-old driver of the Kia remained at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
Constable Ed Lister of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “My thoughts are with the man and his family at this extremely difficult time."
"I can only be thankful that the man's daughter and the woman and her son were not more seriously injured.."
“We have launched an investigation into how this incident happened and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage showing the collision."
