Senior citizen from Kent passed away

GILLINGHAM (Kent) April 16: R. Gopinathan Pillai of 15 Kelly Drive, Gillingham, Kent, ME7 1FE passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 4:45 pm. Mr Pillai has been undergoing treatment due to age related illnesses.
Mr Pillai is from Madavoor in Thiruvananthapuram district. He is brother of noted Kathakali maestro Madavoor Vasudevan Nair. He is one of the first Malayalee migrant to settled in Kent. He is one of the senior members of Kent Malayalee Association and has been an active participant in association activities. He is father of Rajan Pillai, treasurer of Kent Malayalee Association.
Mr Pillai is survived by his wife Mrs Rugmini Amma Pillai, Rajan Pillai (Son), Radhakrishna Pillai (Unni) (Son), Mrs Sindhu Pillai Hill (Daughter), Mrs Bindu Pillai (Daughter-in- law), Mrs Sangeetha Pillai (Daughter-in-law), Mathew Hill (Son-in- Law) and seven Grand children: Gayathri Pillai Jazz Mahal, Dhanya Pillai, Vismaya Pillai, Vinyak Pillai (Kannan), Liam Pillai Hill, Sivan Pillai Hill and Maya Pillai Hill.
The Executive Committee of Kent Malayalee Association has expressed its condolences to the beareaving family, said a press note from the association.
